Street Fighter Alpha is a re-imagining of Street Fighter that takes place between the first two games. Chun Li, Ken, Ryu, and Sagat are returning Street Fighter characters while Adon, Birdie, Charlie, Guy, Rose, and Sodom are all new fighters.
And for the first time ever, characters from Capcom side-scrolling Final Fight video game are included in Street Fighter Alpha’s roster: Guy and Sodom.

Gen, a returning character from Street Fighter 1, and Rolento, a character from Final Fight, join the battle as playable characters in Street Fighter Alpha 2. The schoolgirl Sakura and the joke fighter Dan also make their first Street Fighter appearance.

Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the ultimate version of the Street Fighter Alpha series. The game includes all characters from its predecessor and adds 10 new playable fighters. Visuals have been enhanced, sounds have been redone, balancing has been tweaked across the entire roster, and new stages and theme music have been added.
Lastly, a new selectable super combo fighting system called “isms” has been added. One of three fighting isms can be selected before battle, modifying a character’s power, speed, defense, and super combo meter.
Balrog, Blanka, Cammy, E. Honda, and Vega all return from Street Fighter 2.
Cody from Final Fight makes his first Street Fighter appearance as well does Karin (Sakura’s wealthy rival), R. Mika (a wrestler who idolizes Zangeif), and Juli and Juni (M. Bison’s bodyguards).

Street Fighter 3: New Generation
Street Fighter 3: New Generation is a one-versus-one fighting game that is a direct sequel to Street Fighter 2 and a refresh of the series. Only two veteran characters return, and new gameplay mechanics are introduced that add depth to matches and differentiate this game from past entries.
Additionally, Street Fighter 3: New Generation acts as a series reboot and the roster reflects it. The game includes 10 playable characters. Ryu and Ken are the only two returning characters while the other eight are brand new to the series. The game also introduces a new boss character named Gill.
During matches players can dash, retreat, perform leap attacks, and parry for the first time in the series. The visual look of the game has also been overhauled with a more detailed and fluid look that has a subdued color pallet.

Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact acts as a replacement to its predecessor, updating the fighting game with a few new characters, super moves, tweaks, and balances. Overall, the foundation is the same but new features like wide-screen support and returning bonus rounds make this iteration standout.
All characters return from the first game with twins Yun and Yang receiving their own character slots and special moves. Three new characters also join the fray: series favorite Akuma, Final Fight enemy Hugo, and the boss character’s brother Urien.

All characters from Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo return. Two new characters have also been added to the roster: Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.

Overall, Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers for Nintendo Switch is relatively rare.
Its price has climbed since its release whereas Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition’s price has declined since it launched.
Ultra Street Fighter 2 released first and only includes one game. The release of the 30th anniversary title that includes 12 games released later and effectively replaced Ultra Street Fighter 2, making Ultra Street Fighter 2 more valuable.
Lastly, Ultra Street Fighter 2 rarely receives price drops on Nintendo Switch, while Street Fighter Anniversary editions receives price drops on a regular basis.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Nintendo Switch Online app that is free to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers provides over 100 SNES games to play, but Street Fighter 2 is not one of them.
Nor is any other Street Fighter title originally released on the SNES.
This is due to Capcom having released a compilation of Street Fighter titles for Nintendo Switch in its 30th anniversary game.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch does include Street Fighter 2 and allows players to play the Hyper Fighting and Turbo versions of the game against other people online.
If you have a Nintendo Switch and want to play Street Fighter 2, the only way to do so is by getting Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition.
You’ll also have access to many other Street Fighter games included in the compilation as well.
Is Street Fighter 3 On Nintendo Switch?
Street Fighter 3 is available to play on the Nintendo Switch. In fact, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition includes all three versions of part three. However, no version of Street Fighter 3 can be purchased by itself.

Street Fighter 3: New Generation, Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact, and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike are available to play on Nintendo Switch and are included in the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition.
All three versions of the game are arcade-perfect ports that are exactly how they were when they were released in arcades years ago. Each game also includes game borders, pause menu, and special move lists for each character.
These additional features help make these versions of the games the definitive way to play Street Fighter 3. What’s more, Street Fighter 3: Third Impact can even be played online against other players.
Keep in mind that you cannot purchase any version of Street Fighter 3 by itself, physical or digital. The Street Fighter trilogy is only available as part of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition.
Is Street Fighter 4 On Nintendo Switch?
Street Fighter 4 is not available on Nintendo Switch. However, all variations of Street Fighter Alpha, 1, 2, and 3 are on the Nintendo Switch and can be played by purchasing the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition.
Street Fighter 4 is not available on Nintendo Switch
Nintendo-only Street Fighter fans will have to play Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition on the Nintendo 3DS if they’re looking to play Street Fighter 4.
The Nintendo 3DS is the only Nintendo consoles that has a variation of Street Fighter 4.
Capcom has not commented on bringing Street Fighter 4 to the Nintendo Switch; thus, the likelihood of Street Fighter 4 coming to the Nintendo Switch is quite low.

Is Street Fighter 5 On Nintendo Switch?
Street Fighter 5 is not on Nintendo Switch and is only available on PlayStation 4, 5, and Windows PC via the Steam gaming application. It is extremely unlikely the game would ever arrive on Nintendo consoles now or in the future.
Street Fighter 5 is not on Nintendo Switch
Sony and Capcom co-developed Street Fighter 5 based on a mutual vision of expanding the fighting game audience. More over, Sony’s funding ensured Street Fighter 5 would remain on Sony PlayStation home consoles.
Meaning, Street Fighter 5 is not on Microsoft Xbox or Nintendo Switch home consoles for the foreseeable future, at least in a stand-alone manner.
Perhaps Cacpom will release an updated Street Fighter collection years from now that includes all Street Fighter games, but Nintendo fans who want to play Street Fighter 5 will have to buy a PlayStation console or Windows PC for now.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition is the best Street Fighter game on Nintendo Switch. This compilation contains 12 classic Street Fighter games, including all versions of Street Fighter Alpha, 1, 2, and 3. Each arcade port game also has include move lists, borders, and a pause screen.
This Street Fighter compilation title is the best value for your money if you can only buy one Street Fighter game for Nintendo Switch.
The other Street Fighter game on the Nintendo Switch is Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers.
Ultra Street Fighter 2 is definitely a great package, being the ultimate form of Street Fighter 2 with redrawn high definition and widescreen visuals, an enhanced soundtrack, and three new playable characters. A 3D first person horde mode featuring Ryu is also included to round out the package.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition is the best Street Fighter game on Nintendo Switch
However, Ultra Street Fighter 2 contains only one game with the primary reasons for getting it being the exclusive redrawn visuals and added characters.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition also includes all other versions of Street Fighter 2, allowing you to play the same game just without the “Ultra” exclusive content.
I suggest adamant Street Fighter players get Ultra Street Fighter 2 and the anniversary collection on Nintendo Switch.
For everyone else, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is the Nintendo Switch Street Fighter I recommend due to its absolute awesome value.
What Other Consoles Is Street Fighter On?
