This is a celebratory title that contains over 100 monsters and arenas from nearly 20 years of Monster Hunter games.
This is by far my favorite Monster Hunter game due to its massive amount of content along with very satisfying gameplay.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a game everyone should play in their lifetime due to the fun gameplay cycle and wealth of content that will surely keep players busy for hundreds (if not thousands) of hours.
Gameplay consists of fighting large, larger, and even larger monsters. Once defeated, monsters provide crafting items that can be used to create weapons and armor.
Repeating quest and monster hunts becomes a necessity in order to obtain the required crafting components for certain gear, but it’s never dull and always fun to do so.
There’s a lot of game included in this ultimate celebration of Monster Hunter
This is because the game remains fresh with over 100 monsters to hunt across a whopping 1,000 plus quests. Over a dozen weapon types, each changing the way the game feels and plays, also helps keep game sessions unique.
The game supports online and cooperative multiplayer hunting sessions for up to 4 players, which adds even more variety and fun to an already packed game.
I’ve played Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for hundreds of hours by myself, online with my friends, and locally with my spouse and doing so is always the most fun I’ve ever had.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is a bucket list game and one of (if not the) best entries in the series to date.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch family of consoles–Nintendo Switch, OLED, and Lite–and can be purchased in both physical and digital formats.

And if you fall in love with the series’ monsters and universe, play Monster Hunter Stories 2. This is a story driven role playing game with turn-based battles and vibrant anime visuals that serves as a fun spin-off to the main series.
Don’t expect the same gameplay from the core Monster Hunter titles going into Monster Hunter Stories 2, and you’ll find plenty of fun to be had.

Completing all 1,200 plus quests, defeating every monster, and crafting every weapon can easily require over 1,000 hours of playtime.

I’ve played Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for 465 hours. And I still have nearly 500 quests to complete, a dozen or so monsters to fight, and a near endless amount of gear to unlock and craft.

Don’t be scared by these play times. You’re never obligated to complete quests you don’t want to, outside mandatory story quests.
The game is simply a lot of fun to play solo or with friends, which is how I racked up hundreds of hours of play time.
There’s a lot of game included in this ultimate celebration of Monster Hunter, allowing you to play as little or as much as you want.

Does Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Include Every Monster?
Monster Hunter Generations does not have every monster in the series, but it does include 129 monsters which is the most in the series. The game includes 93 large monsters as well as 36 small monsters to battle.
These numbers include monster bosses and powerful variations such as the 18 Deviant subspecies.
What Monsters Are Missing From Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate?
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is missing around 60 total monsters and 19 unique monsters from the core series. Any monsters created in titles after Ultimate’s release are also missing.
Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise exclusive monsters are not in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is not a remake. It’s an enhanced version of Monster Hunter Generations.
Ultimate adds a host of new content including the hard G-Rank difficulty, 100 plus quests, over 20 monsters, 2 hunting styles, 3 areas, 6 Deviant monsters, weapons, and armor.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is not a remake
So much more content has also been added to this version of the game–from new items and downloadable content to being able to play as a cat–it would be near impossible to list them all.
