What Is Fitness Boxing?

Fitness Boxing 1 and 2 are effective cardio boxing games in which players swing the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to the rhythm of nearly two dozen popular songs to burn sweat and workout.

Progress tracking, calories burned, and various difficulty settings are included to maximize workouts.

Should You Buy Fitness Boxing?

You should buy Fitness Boxing due to the series’ pickup-and-play gameplay that supplies beginner to advanced workout routines with easy to perform motions. The series is an effective workout tool that provides progress tracking and a host of adjustable settings to customize each exercise.

In fact, Fitness Boxing is my go-to workout routine, gaming or otherwise. This is due to how easy and simple the movements are to perform along with the variety of movements asked of the player.

Exercise routines start with jabs and then adds hooks, uppercuts, ducks, side steps, and more to increase the workout load. I’ve played these games for months straight and never became bored of the routines.

It also helps that you can customize your workouts and select the routines you enjoy the most. Personally, I enjoy throwing a lot of punches with the occasional sidestep to maximize calories burned, so I select those.

I really love these games, and I highly suggest the series as the first fitness games to buy for all Nintendo Switch owners looking to burn calories.

Which Is Better: Fitness Boxing 1 Or Fitness Boxing 2?

I recommend getting Fitness Boxing 2 because it has additional tracking features, robust settings customization, and an overall cleaner and a more user-friendly feel to it than the first game.

Fitness Boxing 1 is an effective workout game in its own right and a great place to start. Having played each game for many hours, I adore and have enjoyed both.

Other Great Workout Games For Nintendo Switch

I found Fitness Boxing 1 and 2 top be the best fitness games for Nintendo Switch that provides the most effective workouts and value. However, the Nintendo Switch includes additional fantastic fitness games to enjoy.

  • ARMS. This is a colorful fighting game that utilizes the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controller’s motion controls to throw punches. Calories will be burned and arms will become sore after a few battles in this stealth fitness game.
  • JUMP ROPE CHALLENGE (Free Digital Game). This game requires you to hold one Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller in each hand and to jump. That’s it. This is a free digital jump roping sim that tracks your jumps
  • JUST DANCE SERIES. Dance to a track list of popular songs alone or party with friends; each game contains about 40 songs with an optional subscription that grants access to over 600 additional songs. This is also a great series for working out.
  • RING FIT ADVENTURE. Developed by Nintendo (the creative minds behind Wii Fit), this title combines working out with a vibrant role playing adventure that relies on body movements to perform actions. A gamer’s workout game for sure.

Is The Nintendo Switch Good For Fitness? Can You Get Fit From Nintendo Switch?

As a whole, Nintendo Switch is good for fitness, allowing owners to get fit from playing a variety of Nintendo Switch games that utilize motion controls. Playing fitness titles such as Just Dance and Zumba–along with any motion controlled game–a few times per week can be a good workout routine to help stay fit.

I play about a half hour of Fitness Boxing (along with a few minutes of Jump Rope Challenge) three times a week on my Nintendo Switch as my primary workout regimen to help me stay fit.

I feel doing so has kept the extra weight off while improving my cardio.

Is Mario Tennis Aces Good For Exercise?

Mario Tennis Aces is a great exercise game and provides a healthy, calorie burning workout by using the game’s motion controls. By swinging the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers like a tennis racket, you can work up a sweat by playing against friends or the computer in various modes.

Play a few matches of Mario Tennis Aces with motion controls multiple times a week–for 20 to 30 minutes a session–to maximize the workout potential of this fun digital tennis game.

I’ve played tons of Mario Tennis Aces and can personally say that playing this game with motion controls is a fun workout and feels reminiscent of Wii Sports Tennis (which is a good thing).

Does Nintendo Switch Have Zumba?

Zumba: Burn It Up! is available for Nintendo Switch and provides danced-based workouts by utilizing the Nintendo Switch’s motion controls. Zumba for Nintendo Switch contains 30 classes of various fitness levels, up to 4 player sessions, and 30 songs that include Zumba originals and popular hits.

If you’re interested in Zumba Burn It Up!’s complete song list, I created a detailed guide of all songs in the game you can view by clicking here.

The game also utilizes realistic visuals for the game’s various instructors and includes well-known Zumba personalities such as Zumba’s founder, Alberto “Beto” Pérez.

I’ve purchased Zumba games for three consecutive Nintendo Consoles (Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, and Nintendo Switch) and I can say Zumba: Burn It Up! for Nintendo Switch continues the fun home-based Zumba workout legacy.

The Wii versions of Zumba included waist bands to hold your controllers, but Zumba: Burn It Up! for Nintendo Switch version does not. Consider buying optional wrist bands along with Zumba: Burn It Up! if you prefer not holding controllers while you dance.
