I noticed many of my friends and family wondered if there was a way to see the current price of previously purchased Nintendo Switch digital games as it would prove helpful.

You cannot check the current price of previously purchased games via the Nintendo Switch eShop. A game’s price will be replaced by an “already purchased” message once it is bought. This prevents users from viewing current prices of previously purchased Nintendo Switch games on the digital store.

With that said, there are creative workarounds to view the current price of a previously purchased Nintendo Switch eShop game. And I’ll explain these methods with detail in this very article.

How To View The Current Price Of Nintendo Switch eShop Games

There are 3 ways to view the current prices of a previously purchased Nintendo Switch eShop game: visit Nintendo’s website, visit a third-party site that lists game prices, or create a second account.

The first two approaches require visiting websites from a computer, phone, or browser-capable device and are quite convenient while creating a second account requires a bit more work.

Let’s take a look at all three methods.

1) Visit Nintendo.com

This post may contain Amazon affiliate links we earn from. Please assume all links are affiliate.

The simplest way to view current Nintendo Switch eShop game prices is by visiting Nintendo.com, the official website for all things Nintendo.

NOTE: Make sure you are not logged into your Nintendo Account when visiting Nintendo.com. You won’t be able to see game prices of already purchased games if you are logged in with your Nintendo Account.

  1. Go to Nintendo.com
  2. Navigate to the search bar
  3. Type the name of the game you’re looking for
  4. Select the game
  5. View the game’s current price on the game’s product page

Repeat this process to view the current price of any game you have previously purchased.

2) Visit DekuDeals.com

The second best option is visiting a trustworthy third party website (not affiliated by Nintendo).

DekuDeals is a legitimate website database of all Nintendo Switch game prices, both digital and physical.

The site updates regularly and shows current prices of every game.

To view the current prices of a certain game

  1. Visit DekuDeals.com
  2. Navigate to the search bar
  3. Type the name of the game you’re looking for
  4. View the game’s current digital (and physical) price

You can also browse certain categories and filter your search by various methods by using DekuDeals.com robust database features.

This is by far my favorite method of keeping up-to-date with current Nintendo Switch game prices.

NOTE: The third option requires a bit more work but will allow you to view the current Nintendo Switch eShop prices of any game on the digital store.

3) Create A Second Nintendo Account

The final approach requires you to create a second Nintendo Account and then link it to a second Nintendo Switch Profile on your Nintendo Switch system.

Follow this detailed picture guide I created to learn how to create a FREE Nintendo Account.

Then, use your second Nintendo Switch Profile (with a Nintendo Account linked) to visit the Nintendo Switch eShop from your Nintendo Switch.

You’ll be able to see current prices of every game on the Nintendo Switch eShop as long as you don’t purchase games with the second account.

Simply . . .

  • remember the name of the game whose current price you want to know
  • visit the Nintendo Switch eShop from the Nintendo Switch HOME menu with the second account.

A few steps are required but it’s a workaround that allows current prices of games to be seen straight from the Nintendo Switch itself.

Are Nintendo Switch Purchases Tied To Your Account?

Nintendo Switch digital purchases are tied to your Nintendo Account and not tied to your Nintendo Switch system. This allows you to re-download your games on another Nintendo Switch system as long as you sign-in with your Nintendo Account on the new Nintendo Switch console.

All previously purchased games, extra content, software, and other Nintendo Switch digital content goes with you.

If you need help creating a free Nintendo Account, following this detailed picture guide I created by clicking here.

Nintendo Switch digital purchases are tied to your Nintendo Account

Having your game purchases tied to an account is great, especially if you’re looking to upgrade to a Nintendo Switch OLED or want a handheld-only Nintendo Switch Lite.

For example, my friend sold her original Nintendo Switch and purchased a Nintendo Switch Lite.

She simply un-linked her Nintendo Account from her original system, linked her account to a Nintendo Switch profile on her new Switch Lite, and began re-downloading her previously purchased games.

All of her games moved with her to the new console since Nintendo Switch game purchases are tied to an account.
