Why earn money in Littlewood?
Littlewood is a social, life simulator similar to Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley.
All three of these games focus on crafting, decorating, and buying items to make the perfect digital landscape.
In Littlewood, money is used to buy
- furniture at the General Shop to decorate your house as well as your neighbor’s houses (and there are tons of items to purchase)
- decorative items from the Décor Shop that can be placed around town
- special items at a nearby port city
- and rare items at the Auction House among other things
It never hurts to have extra money which is why it is important to earn as much as you can early on in the game.
How To Earn Money Early On In Littlewood
Making money early on in Littlewood is not hard at all but does require quite a few steps to make happen.
Luckily, all of these steps can be accomplished within the first in-game week and requires very little time to achieve if done correctly.
In short, you will be selling one specific item you can gather a lot of in the beginning of the game at the town’s Marketplace.
The money-making item in question? Weeds!
Why sell weeds?
Weeds sell for 20 Dewdrops at the start of the game and are the most common item that can be sold for the most amount of profit.
They can be found around town every few days and in a nearby forest. Their ample supply equates to consistent revenue.
Additionally, weed sell prices can be increased by performing certain tasks throughout the game.
STEP A – Create Marketplace
You have to build a Marketplace in order to sell items in Littlewood.
DAY 1 OF SPRING
Build your house by using the My House Blueprint you receive from Willow on the very first day.
- My House Blueprint requires 8 Wooden Planks and 8 Plain Bricks to build.
The day after building My House Blueprint, Willow will give you the Marketplace Blueprint.
DAY 2 OF SPRING
Build the Marketplace anywhere you like.
- Marketplace Blueprint requires 8 Wooden Planks and 8 Plain Bricks to build.
STEP B – Make Air Balloon Platform
Next, you will need to travel to a specific location to gather the item we will be selling.
You will need the Air Balloon Platform to travel.
You must first build the My Office Blueprint in order to obtain the Air Balloon Platform Blueprint.
You should receive the My Office Blueprint from Willow a day after receiving the Marketplace Blueprint.
DAY 3 OF SPRING
Build My Office anywhere in your town.
- My Office Blueprint requires 10 Wooden Planks and 10 Plain Bricks to build.
DAY 4 OF SPRING
A day after constructing My Office, Willow will give you the Air Balloon Platform Blueprint.
Build it anywhere in your town.
- Air Balloon Platform requires 1 Wooden Plank and 1 Plain Brick to build.
Your prep work is now finished. You are ready to travel to the nearby forest and collect as many Weeds as you can.
STEP 1 – Go To The Endless Forest
Speak to the person at the Air Balloon Platform by pressing the A button.
Select Endless Forest from the list of destinations available to you.
Press A to confirm.
NOTE: The first time you enter Endless Forest, a story scene will play.
STEP 2 – Select A Whirlybug
Walk over to the Whirlybugs (the spider-like creatures resting in the dirt).
Stand in front of one and press A to be transported to the Endless Forest.
NOTE: You will only have access to the first Whirlybug. The second Whirlybug requires Woodcutting level 30 to use while the third Whirlybug requires Woodcutting level 60 to use.
Also keep in mind that you are only able to use each Whirlybug transport once every in-game day.
STEP 3 – Gather Weeds
Travel around the Endless Forest and gather weeds.
Walk up to a weed and press the A button to add it to your inventory.
Avoid performing other tasks that use up energy in order to maximize the amount of weeds you can pick up in the day.
STEP 4 – Return Home
Leave the Endless Forest once you picked up every weed you could find or if you are running low on energy.
Press the B button to open your menu then select Return Home to be transported back to your house.
STEP 5 – Sell Weeds At Marketplace
Travel to your Marketplace and approach a stand. Press A.
An inventory menu will appear on screen. Navigate to the Misc. A tab (it has a green weed icon) and Press A.
Then select the Weeds item from your list. Press A to place the weed on the Marketplace stand.
Press A up to 8 times to place a weed on each of the stands (if you run out of weeds, you will not be able to fill up all the stands).
Any item placed on the stands will be sold at the end of the day.
NOTE: Approach a stand with an item on it and press the B button to remove the item if you change your mind.
STEP 6 – Go To Sleep
Return to your house, go to your bed, and press the A button to prompt the day to end.
Select Yes when asked if you want to go to sleep.
Press A to confirm.
STEP 7 – Collect Dewdrops At Marketplace
Navigate to the Marketplace the next day. Dewdrop icons have since replaced the weeds.
Walk up to any stand and press A to collect all Dewdrops earned.
STEP 8 – Repeat This Process
Repeat all the steps you learned in this handy guide day-after-day until you have all the money you desire.
Keep Selling Items To Increase Your Merchanting Level
The more you sell, the more your Merchanting skill will increase.
And the higher your Merchanting skill becomes, the more items you will be able to sell at the Marketplace each day.
- You can sell 1 item per stand when your Merchanting level is low
- You can sell 2 items per stand when you reach Merchanting level 30
- And you can sell 3 items per stand when your Merchanting level is 60 or higher
Sell weeds (or any other item) at the Marketplace to increase your Merchanting skill which will result in being able to sell even more weeds per day which will also increase your Merchanting skill level.
It is a win-win situation that will help you earn money much faster by being able to double and triple your daily profits.
Whenever you see a weed in the wild, collect it. You will need them when you are able to sell multiple items per stand.
Buy Town Wishes To Increase Weed Selling Price
You can increase weed selling price by donating to your My Office Town Wishes donation fund.
Donate to your My Office by entering the building, stand in front of the blue Dewdrop orb inside, and Press A.
You will then see what the donation requires. Donate said items until your My Office is at least 3 Stars and higher.
Then, check your desk every Wednesday and Saturday for Town Wishes that increase weed selling price.
Buy it as soon as you see it to reap more income from selling your weeds.
