The 23rd Tetris 99 Maximus Cup provides participating players with a free in-game theme based on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
The background, the user interface, Tetrimino blocks design, music, and sound effects included with the theme are all taken straight from Skyward Sword HD.
Add a bit of Zelda in your Tetris 99 play sessions by completing this event.

The 23rd Tetris 99 Maximus Cup: The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD event is available for a limited time.
- EVENT START: Aug 6th 2021 12 a.m.
- EVENT END: Aug 9th 2021 11:59 p.m.
The Tetris 99 Skyward Sword Requirements
You must be a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber to have access to the free Tetris 99 game.
Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions can be purchased in two manners
- Individual Membership
- Family Membership
The Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership (head over to the Amazon page if you don’t want to miss out on online action) comes with 12 months of service.
The Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership (check out the Amazon page if you have a family of online players) also provides 12 months of service but allows up to 8 family members to have online access at discounted price.
This grants Nintendo Switch owners online features for an entire year as well as access to free Nintendo Switch games and apps such as Tetris 99.
How To Obtain The Skyward Sword HD Tetris 99 Theme
In order to obtain the free The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD theme for Tetris 99, you must first complete the event.
Rules Of The Event
- Participate in Tetris Maximus Cup matches to earn event points
- Earn 100 event points in total
- Unlock and obtain the free theme
Simply play battles and earn 100 event points to unlock this Zelda inspired Tetris 99 theme.
NOTE: Varying amounts of event points will be earned based on your placement in the match. The higher your placement, the more event points you will earn and the faster you will unlock the free theme.
